The Anatomical Record is a major forum for research dealing with diverse aspects of the organization of biological structure and its functional significance. The journal includes regular research reports, review articles, special communications, and commentaries on all areas of the anatomical sciences.
Beginning in 1998, the journal presents new section, The New Anatomist. This publishes 6 times a year in addition to the Anatomical Record's regular 12 issues. Appearing in an accessible magazine-style format, The New Anatomist offer reviews and features of broad interest to anatomists and other science professionals.
