Welcome to the Developmental Dynamics Special Online Reviews Issue. Here you
will find a compilation of the various articles published in the print journal's
Reviews section.
Developmental Dynamics now publishes clusters of review articles that have a
specific research focus, providing readers with up-to-date information on current
thinking and progress in key areas within that focus. The section comprises both short
and long peer-reviewed papers, which are either invited or author-initiated, covering
subjects that have not been recently examined in the literature.
The reviews present critical synthesis on topics of community interest that aim not
only to inform our readers, but also stimulate innovative thinking and new approaches to
problems in development at all levels of organization. Clusters featuring reviews of C. elegans, Drosophila, and the extracellular matrix illustrate the utility
of these articles in advancing our understanding of developmental mechanisms in model
organisms and molecular systems alike. These review clusters demonstrate Developmental
Dynamics' committment to serving as a forum for the publication of research articles
on the developmental biology of all organisms.
These articles are provided free online by Wiley-Liss, Inc., the publishers of Developmental Dynamics, and the American Association of
Anatomists, as a service to the scientific community.

Developmental Dynamics - Information for Authors
[Back to Top]
Reviews
Authors interested in submitting a manuscript for the REVIEWS section should send John Fallon a
detailed outline of the proposed review before submitting a completed manuscript. Reviews should be
between 5 and 10 journal pages (950 words/page) in length. The manuscript should be organized as
follows: title page with running title, authors' names and addresses including telephone, fax, and e-mail
address of the corresponding author, and key words; brief abstract; the body of the review including,
if possible, a Short Perspectives or Future Directions section at the end; Acknowledgments;
References; and Footnotes, Tables, and Figure Legends. Authors should plan in advance to obtain
written copyright release from the publishers of all previously published figures and art work used in
their review and include them with the manuscript on initial submission.
