genesis-Special Issue
Special Issue: Morpholino Gene Knockdowns This special issue of genesis is comprised of a series of peer-reviewed short papers utilizing morpholino knock downs of gene function in various animal and tissue culture systems. Morpholinos are modified anti-sense RNAs that are more stable and less toxic than traditional anti-sense RNAs. They are able to knock down gene function by interfering with translation. These morpholino papers will explore morpholino technology, present knock down phenocopies of known mutations, and characterize knock down phenotypes of genes with no known mutations. Having so many papers covering this new technology available in one issue will facilitate an appreciation and understanding of the advantages and limitations of this emerging technology. These articles are provided free online by Wiley-Liss, Inc., the publishers of genesis, as a service to the scientific community. genesis - Special Issue: Morpholino Gene Knockdowns genesis: Volume 30, No. 3, July 2001
