AAA is able to offer a variety of programs and activies to minority students through the Minority Access to Research Careers (MARC) Program, including:

SUMMER RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM (SROP)
Application Deadline: Rolling, generally December through April

This program provides financial support for undergraduate and graduate students to participate in summer research opportunity programs at minority institutions. The MARC program provides funding to supplement and/or cover the travel and subsistence expenses for the students who have been selected to participate.

HOW TO APPLY:

  1. Review the guidelines and requirements to be sure you are eligible for the program.
  2. Search the online database to locate a SROP.
  3. Apply to the SROP. Only students who have been officially accepted into a SROP can apply for MARC funding.
  4. MARC funding applications for students who have been officially accepted into a SROP must be prepared by the host university, institution, or laboratory.
  5. Applications are reviewed on a first-come-first-served basis, so get your application in early!
