AAA Annual Meeting a Must
For Students, Postdocs, Junior Faculty

Networking and presenting at scientific meetings is a key aspect of advancing professionally and becoming known in your field. Too often, though, students and postdocs can get lost in the shuffle, overshadowed by more experienced or better known researchers.

That's why AAA is continuing last year's event - Student Award Platform Sessions. Finalists for AAA's top student awards will present their work and be judged in two Saturday sessions: the Presley-Zeiss Postdoctoral Award Presentations (3:30 - 4:30 p.m., Room 24AB) and the Langman Graduate Student Award Presentations (5:00 - 6:00 p.m., Room 24AB). A between sessions reception gives students and postdocs a chance to meet prospective mentors and employers!

Here's a sampling of what else AAA has to offer young investigators at EB 2005:

•  Be sure to sign up for the luncheon program "Getting Your Dream Job: Preparing Your CV and Managing Your Interview." The first 20 AAA Students to register are FREE! Registration fills up fast, so register today! (Sunday, April 3, 12:10-1:50 p.m.) Register for the Mentoring Lunch

•  Selected students and postdocs will participate in a separate AAA Poster Session & Reception - a great opportunity for networking! (Monday, April 4, 7-8 p.m., Convention Center, Room 23)

•  Everyone is welcome to attend the AAA Socializer - eat, drink, meet with colleagues, and make new connections! (Sunday, April 3, 8-9 p.m., San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina, Bayside Pavilion)
