AAA Committees
Advisory Committee of Young Anatomists (ACYA)
Serves as AAA’s principal voice of young anatomists. ACYA advises the AAA Board on how best to recruit young anatomists into the association and how to promote their involvement in the AAA and the Experimental Biology meeting. This committee selects recipients for AAA student and young anatomist awards. Former committee members generally serve as mentors in AAA's Mentoring Program.
Anatomical Terminology Committee
Addresses issues of nomenclature on behalf of the Association and, if appropriate, produces lists of terms of nomenclature for the membership. The committee also provides input to the international committees concerned with anatomical nomenclature.
Educational Affairs Committee(EAC)
Plans education and teaching track at the annual meeting. Oversees AAA education programs, including related website components.
Journal Trust Fund & Investment Committee
Oversees AAA investment funds to ensure that these funds are invested according to AAA policy and are used as required for the purposes for which they were established.
Membership Committee
This committee is responsible for retaining and growing the membership of the Association. Duties include developing strategies and implementing programs for recruitment of new members, quickly integrating new members into ongoing activities of the Association, enhancing attendance at the AAA Annual Meeting/EB, and reactivating non-active and former members.
Nominating Commitee
Prepares a slate of nominees for AAA annual election.
Professional Development Committee
Initiates and provides oversight for AAA's professional development programs, including the Mentoring Program.
Program Committee
Responsible for planning, organizing, overseeing, and evaluating the AAA Annual Meeting program. The committee also provides input on the content and format of other AAA scientific programs, as required.
Public Affairs Committee
Oversees AAA's public policy program and advises on public policy positions.
Publications Committee
Oversees all aspects of the AAA’s journal activities, acting as an advocate for AAA’s journals with the Publisher and providing oversight of the journals on behalf of the Board of Directors.

Recommends annual budget, oversees investments.

Science Policy Committee
Monitors & advises on science policy issues; oversees Office of Public Affairs.
Women's Excellence in Science Award Committee
Advises on administration of this annual award.
