This is a great opportunity for students, postdocs and faculty to immerse themselves in a one-day meeting in downtown Dallas. Oral presentations, poster presentations and competition awards are available for undergrad and graduate students.

  • Affordable registration rates for Members and Non-members
  • No abstract submission fee!  One free abstract submission (per person) is included with your registration
  • Up to $1,200 in prizes will be awarded to undergrad and graduate students for Oral and Poster competitions.
  • FASEB MARC Travel Awards are available for attending AAA's Regional Meeting.  This award helps to defray meeting registration and travel-related expenses for eligible underrepresented undergraduate and graduate students, post-baccalaureates, postdoctorates, junior faculty and mentors/faculty scientists in the biomedical and behavioral science. Dr. Jian (Jerry) Feng
The Life and Fate of Osteocytes in Health and Disease

Dr. Feng performs research in craniofacial, tooth and bone developmental biology, with a particular interest in understanding the roles of Dentin matrix protein-1, Bmp receptor 1A, beta-catenin, periostin and mechanical loading during development.  In addition, Dr. Feng is interested in understanding tooth root formation using a naturally occurring osteoporosis mouse model. Lastly, Dr. Feng is interested in understanding the mechanism by which Pax-9 in mutation in exon 3 leads to tooth agenesis. Read more about Dr. Feng >>

2. The Virtual Histology Classroom - Dr. Diane Chico
The purpose of this workshop is to provide hands-on activity in utilizing the Aperio virtual microscopy system, including the utilization of the digital slide conferencing for collaborative learning among students.  Participants will also be engaged in discussing the challenges to using virtual microscopy in the classrooms.

Parking - Complimentary parking is available at Baylor College of Dentistry parking garage located at 3201 Nussbaumer Street.  The gate arm will be up and please park in any open spot (disregard private parking and reserved parking spaces since it is weekend and we have it reserved for this event). If you park in a hospital parking lot then you will have to pay so be sure the parking garage says "Baylor College of Dentistry" when you enter.   The only free spots are offered by Baylor College of Dentistry.
