The Biology Department in the College of Liberal Arts at Mercer University seeks a tenure-track assistant professor to begin fall 2014. Duties will consist of teaching five undergraduate courses per academic year that may include Human Anatomy and Physiology, Vertebrate Zoology, Ecology, Introductory Biology, and upper division specialty courses. Research involving undergraduates is strongly encouraged. We are interested in candidates able to contribute to general science education and/or the University’s interdisciplinary and/or writing programs.

Ph.D. in biological or biomedical science with an expertise in Vertebrate, Systems, or Organismal Biology and/or Evolution granted by fall 2014 from an accredited university/college is required. Candidates must have a promise of excellence in teaching and scholarly activity. Membership in Phi Beta Kappa is considered an advantage. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
