The Department of Anatomy with Radiology has world leading programmes in anatomical and imaging sciences. The Department has state of the art anatomical dissection, plastination and medical imaging facilities and fully integrates physical dissection and medical imaging into a variety of teaching and research programmes.
We are seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic academic at the level of Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer to teach all areas of anatomy, and particularly the head and neck, by cadaveric dissection to medical students, registrars, postgraduates and health professionals, and to significantly contribute to the Department’s academic and research programmes.
You will hold a medical qualification or PhD (or equivalent) in a field relevant to the anatomical or imaging sciences, and will have a strong research interest in basic and clinical anatomy. All areas of anatomical research will be considered, including basic, clinical, computational, bioengineering or image based applications.
You will be expected to further develop your own research programme, ideally in collaboration with established anatomical and imaging research networks within the School of Medical Sciences and the parent Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences. Particular areas of strength are MRI and ultrasound, with strong links to Bioengineering and clinical specialties.
This is a full time permanent academic position, for an initial period of four years which may be continued thereafter by agreement under the terms of the University’s Continuation Policy.
