The author states his intent of this updated edition of Netter’s Clinical Anatomy was to provide a concise and focused introduction to clinical anatomy. Clearly, this edition has met goal and much more.
In addition to defining and discussing basic anatomical orientation, organization, and structure, the book presents students preparing for a health professions career with the needed detail and descriptive understandings of the adverse clinical implications and impacts on the patient’s health.
With the renowned Frank Netter, the book’s illustrations are enhanced and complemented with other drawings from Machado, Perkins, and Craig. The inclusion of radiographic images (CT, MR, etc.), discussions of diagnostic methods and results, with the use of tables serves to increase the student’s knowledge of anatomy, adverse clinical presentations, and etiology. The book uses many techniques to reinforce learning. Also, with links to the online Netter-Reference, a valuable add-on component gives students another tool for knowledge and understanding.
This edition is not only a worthwhile text for the curriculums in the various health occupations, but it also serves as an excellent continuing clinical resource and anatomical reference guide to keep handy.
