Request for Emeritus Membership

The general qualifications for Emeritus membership shall be established by the Board of Directors and the eligibility of any person for this category shall be determined by the Board of Directors on a case-by-case basis. 

Emeritus Members retain all of the privileges of membership—including voting rights, committee service, awards eligibility—at no cost.  They also receive the AAA Newsletter and Anatomical Sciences Education (online only).  Emeritus Members interested in receiving Developmental Dynamics or The Anatomical Record must pay the member rate for these journals (DD e-only, $40; AR print, $65; AR e-only, $45).

To be considered for Emeritus status, you must have been an AAA member for at least the last 10 consecutive years and (a) have formally retired from an academic or other professional position, (b) no longer be gainfully employed, and (c) have no active or anticipated research funding.  You may also qualify if you have been an AAA member for at least the last 10 consecutive years and are disabled and no longer able to work.

You may apply for Emeritus status online or by sending a letter to the AAA office via mail, fax or email.
