One of the best ways to spruce up your CV is to get involved with your professional society and make contacts in the research community. An easy way to accomplish both of these objectives is to organize a session for the AAA Annual Meeting.  Click here to view the general themes of the meeting. 

If you have an idea for a session you'd like to submit to AAA's Program Committee, here's what to do:

1. You must be an AAA member to submit a proposal, unless you were recruited by AAA to submit a proposal. Not a member? Click here to join.
2. Determine if you'd like to organize a symposium or a hybrid symposium session. Read about the difference between  symposia, hybrid-symposia and platform sessions. Important: Review the duties and deadlines on this chart to understand the organizer responsibilities.
3. Submit a proposal online (details below) by the deadline.
4. Proposals for AAA's Annual Meeting are carefully reviewed by one of the following committees: AAA's Program Committee, Educational Affairs Committee and/or Professional Development Committee. You will be notified on the status of your proposal in May 2013.
