Submit your abstract to be part of our most important meeting of the year! AAA will host 150 expert speakers and thought leaders, more than 480 anatomy-related poster presentations, and 50 symposia at Anatomy Connected 2023, the world’s largest gathering of anatomical science researchers and educators. Shine a spotlight on your own research by submitting an abstract.

Would you like to be selected for an oral talk? 45% of our oral presentations will be selected from abstract submissions in the following categories:  educational research, cell biology, developmental biology, morphology, biological anthropology, cardiovascular, comparative anatomy, neurobiology, and regeneration.  

New this year – 3-minute Lightning talks! Author’s share bite-sized bits of their scientific research.
New this year - If you cannot attend the meeting in-person, you can submit an abstract to be considered for a virtual poster presentation.

Who Can Submit?

  • AAA members
  • Non-members
  • All professional and academic levels. Students (Graduate/Medical Student, Undergraduate Student or High School Student) will need to provide their research advisors name, institution, and email address

On-time Abstracts
Abstracts submitted prior to the December 14th deadline will be considered for either an oral presentation or a poster presentation. Programmed and approved abstracts will be published in a supplement to either Developmental Dynamics (all scientific research abstracts) or Anatomical Sciences Education (all education research abstracts). All abstracts will undergo a peer-review process.

Travel Awards
AAA awards over $80,000 to student, postdoc and early career members in travel awards to help attend our annual meeting, Anatomy Connected. Travel awards are available in the amounts of $300 and $400 for new and renewing student/postdoc members who submit an abstract by the on-time abstract deadline and present at Anatomy Connected.  In addition, early career members can apply for a $1,000 travel award. Recipients are also eligible for the onsite Student and Postdoc Competition Awards, with prizes as high as $500 per winner. Click here for more information.

Only AAA members can apply for travel awards. Dues must be paid in full for the dues year January–December 2023 to apply. Members also pay reduced registration fees. Join or renew now.
