Candidate Statement: “I’m a serial collaborator” – one of my favourite lines from Twyla Tharp’s book “The collaborative habit”. Serial collaborations with experts outside of my comfort zone have pushed my team to develop innovative approaches for anatomy education and visualization. I will bring this collaborative habit to the AAA board. This collaboration will expand to the various stakeholders in the association – the members, the fellows, the various committees. I will also bring in collaborations with international partners and organizations, which will open up exciting new networks for all members. Our network will also need to expand to include universities and demographics that have been underrepresented, a collaborative approach can bring new voices to the table. Through years of experience on university committees, including the UBC Senate, I bring insight into governance, structure, and strategic planning. Anatomy is the natural nexus for collaborations in the health disciplines and life sciences – we have always been collaborators and innovators. I look forward to working on the AAA board to build on these proud traditions of our discipline and to continue with the excellent community building that the AAA is known for.

Other Professional Memberships Currently Maintained: Member of the International Association of Medical Sciences Educators (IAMSE), Honorary Member of the Swedish Society for Anatomy
