Meet the Candidates for Board of Directors

Term: 2026-2029  |  Open Positions: 4  |  Candidates: 8

Rosemary B. Bassey-Linus, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/ Northwell, Hempstead, New York

Candidate Statement: My vision for the American Association for Anatomy (AAA) is to strengthen its role as a global leader in anatomical sciences by fostering innovation in education and research, advancing inclusion, and expanding the Association’s impact through collaboration, advocacy and outreach. AAA will serve as a platform for anatomists at all career levels and locations to access necessary resources, mentorship and build their professional community. Building on my work in the DEI Committee, I would champion programs that ensure broader representation of underrepresented groups in anatomy education, leadership, and research.

Innovation is at the core of my vision. I will support efforts that elevate AAA’s visibility as a driver of new ideas, particularly by strengthening collaborative research networks and enhancing the impact of AAA meetings as incubators for scientific scholarship and educational practice. I also recognize the importance of global perspectives and believe that more strategic inter-organizational partnerships will enable AAA to reach new communities and prepare anatomists for success in an increasingly interconnected scientific landscape.

My vision for AAA includes an organization that is both inclusive and innovative, globally engaged and fully supports its mission to advance anatomical science and support its members as leaders in education and research.
