The American Association for Anatomy (AAA) is a vibrant, inclusive community of professionals from all disciplines within the anatomical sciences. Our 2,000 members, hailing from 67 countries, represent a wide range of specialties, including anthropologists, archeologists, allied health professionals, biomedical engineers, inventors, paleontologists, physical therapists, scientific illustrators, technicians, veterinarians, zoologists, and more!

We offer a range of membership categories to suit professionals at every stage of their careers. 

As part of our partnership with the Society for Craniofacial Genetics and Developmental Biology (SCGDB), members can add on membership to this society for an additional fee at check out with any of the below AAA membership categories:

Professional Membership - $190

Our Professional membership is our most inclusive offering, designed to meet the needs of staff, faculty, clinicians, technicians, and any other professionals interested in the anatomical sciences and anatomy-related fields. This category provides full access to all AAA benefits, including funding opportunities, publishing rights, career resources, and leadership opportunities within the association. Professional members play a vital role in shaping anatomy's future and advancing the field.

HAPS Affiliate Electronic Membership - $55

Discounted membership is available for members of the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society (HAPS). Membership is open to all current HAPS members and includes access to the website, educational resources, bi-weekly e-news, and electronic access to Anatomical Sciences Education, our education-focused journal.  HAPS Affiliate members are not eligible to vote.

PostDoc Membership - $50

The PostDoc membership category caters to early-career researchers who have recently completed their doctoral studies and are engaged in postdoctoral research positions. PostDoc members benefit from tailored resources, such as career development resources, mentoring programs, and networking events to support their transition into independent research careers. AAA provides opportunities for PostDoc members to showcase their research, collaborate with peers, and explore diverse career paths within the anatomical sciences.

Industry Membership - $1,295

AAA's Industry Partners and Corporate Sponsors are crucial in supporting anatomy. These members include companies, organizations, and institutions that provide products, services, or resources to our community. Student Membership - $35

The student membership category is open to undergraduate, graduate, and medical students pursuing studies related to the anatomical sciences. Student members can access various benefits, including scholarships, travel grants, and exclusive learning resources. The association provides a supportive environment for students to engage with mentors, participate in committees, and develop their professional skills. Student members are the future leaders of the anatomical sciences, and AAA is committed to nurturing their growth and success.

Institutional/Departmental Membership Discount

With AAA's Institutional and Departmental membership discount, you can connect all your colleagues and students to the tools and resources you've come to rely on for a fraction of the price – with the added convenience of a single invoice. Each member who joins under the group rate will be provided their own login based on their email address – so they can access all resources and benefits individually. Minimum of 6 members to be considered for the 15% discount.

If you need to change your membership category due to a shift in your student, professional, or other qualification status, please reach out to our Membership and Marketing Manager at [email protected].   

Prorated and reduced dues are available as follows:

  • Members who join in the first quarter pay full dues.
  • Members who join in the second or third quarter pay a prorated rate.
  • Members who join in the fourth quarter are billed at the full rate, with dues applied through December 31 of the following year.
  • A temporary discount is available on member dues to individual members who experience a hardship leaving them unable to pay the full annual membership rate for professional or personal reasons. A reduced membership dues rate is also available for members living in the countries classified as Low Income based on World Bank ranking of economies.
