Anatomy Webinars

These webinars address gaps in graduate education and research training, as well as emerging topics in the anatomical sciences. The expert content is created by members and/or experts in the subject field. The original AAA Webinar Series was funded through an Innovations Program Grant; this highly-rated member benefit continues to be funded annually by the Board.

Most webinars are available to members for free and to the public for a nominal fee. See individual webinar description for details.

Game On! Exploring Game-based Learning in Anatomy Education

Speaker: Mikaela Stiver, PhD, McGill University

Game-based learning (GBL) is an emergent area of inquiry in medical education and anatomy education alike with evidence of positive impact on students' learning experiences. Get your game on! Developing game-based learning for student engagement

Speakers: Mikaela Stiver, PhD, McGill University; Caitlin Sachsenmeier, MS, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine; Carrie Elzie, PhD, MA, University of Texas Health San Antonio

With an understanding of the concepts of game-based learning (GBL) from the first webinar, the next question is how one can design, develop, and deploy a game approach in their own teaching practice? This will be explored in the second of a three-part AAA webinar, where will introduce the various techniques in designing and developing a game. All participants, from novices to experts, are welcome as they will have opportunities to generate game ideas and discuss them with their academic peers.
